How do we determine if your luggage is repairable?
What can be repaired?
We repair all type of luggage (standard, business, covers for sport or music instruments, pet cages, tool boxes) and baby-strollers. We typically repair damages like broken locks, handles, wheels, zippers, etc. but also dented shells and torn elements.
Is your luggage recoverable?
We determine if a luggage is recoverable by:
1.Figuring if spare parts are available.
2. Analyzing if the damages can be repaired.
If yes, hurray, your luggage is recoverable.
So, that means that if your luggage is recoverable, it will be repaired, right?
Well, not necessarily.
There’s another thing to take into account: If the estimated repair cost is higher than the actual cash value (ACV) of your luggage, it will be declared as totaled (beyond economical repair).
What is totaled?
We estimate if the cost of repair - including things like cost of spare parts and labor fees - is higher than what the luggage is actually worth. If the cost for repairs is higher than the actual cash value of the luggage, it is considered totaled.
So, say that your luggage is damaged. Spare-parts are available and the luggage can be repaired. The estimated repair cost is € 100.00 but the actual cash value of your luggage is only € 50.00. That means that your luggage is totaled (beyond economical repair).
Bottom line: We first determine if your luggage is recoverable and then if it is economical to repair it.
