Damage Report

What is a damage report?

It is issued by the airline that is relevant for proccessing. It entitles us, Dolfi1920, to accept your case and process your damaged luggage. The damage report can be in variouse forms:

  • Printed out

    Printed Damage Report Sample (LOT)

  • Handwritten

    (IMPORTANT: not all airlines accept handwritten damage reports)

  • Email

    In particular, if you subsquently report the damage to the airline, you will often receive an electronic letter confirming your claim. This often includes a refence number with which we can handle your case.

What information does it have?

When you file a claim, the damage report is filled out with the following important data:

  • Name and surname of the complainer;
  • File reference number;
  • Landing date;
  • Characteristics of your luggage (colour, type, age, value);
  • Damage description.

All informations are essential to us. We can use it to:

  • a) take quick decisions whether the baggage is repairable,
  • b) exchange the unrepairable baggage, with a suitable luggage of the same characteristics.

One more thing: It’s always best if you give us the same information that you gave at the counter, i.e. the information in the damage report. For example, if you are not the person who reported the damage ( your name is NOT on the damage report), but you contact us to register a case in our system, you should give us the name of the claimant so that we have the same information as the airline. This applies to all data provided in the document.
